The Disability Tax Credit
The Disability Tax Credit (DTC) is different from the Disability Bond. The DTC is a non-refundable tax credit used to reduce your (or your supporter's) income tax. It's available for Canadians living with a physical or mental impairment. Qualifying can result in a substantial refund from the Government of Canada.
If an individual living with an impairment earns no income, they should still qualify for the DTC, as they will receive access to programs that can provide substantial funds to assist them.
